Project Controls Data Management & Design Specialist:
Role/Description:
This is a new role responsible for the development and implementation of multiple data management and analytical applications for the Turnaround & Construction Organization. This role would support someone who is forward thinking and enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic and innovative environment. (Note that this position reports directly to the TAR & Construction Controls Supervisor and is not a formal IT position.)
Responsibilities include:
Development of ad-hoc, localized and enterprise level data gathering and management systems
Development of local and enterprise level dashboards and reporting systems
Assessing current data structures and work processes to identify areas in need of improvement
Working with multiple departments to determine and provide single-source reporting solutions
Other duties include (but are not limited to) the following:
Develop and integrate local information systems with existing enterprise systems
Ensure local compliance with all enterprise systems and corporate initiatives
Facilitate and oversee the integration of systems and data from multiple workgroups
Provide governance for data and IT solutions implementation
Resolve technical problems as they arise
Provide support and guidance to all workgroups during development and implementation periods
Continually research current and emerging technologies and propose changes as appropriate
Analyze historical data for correlations and trends to provide recommended future enhancements to improve efficiencies
Provide cost support, schedule support and reporting support during turnarounds & outages
Core Competencies Required:
Fundamental understanding of proper data structure, data types & general database architecture
Proven, hands-on experience developing and supporting analytical applications, with an emphasis on visual analytics
Proven, hands-on experience developing and supporting ad-hoc VBA based tools and systems in both Access & Excel
Proven, hands-on experience developing & supporting integrated applications in the Microsoft Teams platform
Proven, hands-on experience with Tableau & PowerBI
Fluid in SQL, DAX & VBA programming languages
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in industrial construction & maintenance environments required
Oil refinery or related industry experience preferred
Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 Professional & Primavera P6 EPPM preferred
Experience with Alteryx or other data transformation platforms preferred
Previous project management and controls experience preferred
