Construction Business Development Representative-Refinery/Petrochem

Our client is a national construction contractor primarily serving the petroleum refining, power generation, chemical processing, alternative fuels, terminal oil & gas, and associated industrial manufacturing industries.
 
REPORTS TO: Business Development Manager
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
To sell construction and construction management services by establishing and
maintaining effective contact with potential buyers.
 
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
1. Incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily action
2. Utilize and improve the Management System (NMS) for effective and efficient
fulfillment of requirements from customers, regulators and NCC values, policies,
objectives and targets
3. Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with
customer, subcontractor, vendor, craft and NCC personnel
4. Employ organizational skills that effectively minimize obstacles that negatively impact
the project and employ sound decision making/problem solving skills when obstacles
arise to resolve the issue
5. Make “cold calls” as required in the region directed by the Business Development
Manager
6. Execute business development action plans for defined targets, monitoring sales
activities and adjusting to market changes as necessary
7. Develop and identify prospects from current clients, referral leads and other sources with
the potential to lead-participate in presentations to new clients.
8. Establish and maintain customer account plans
9. Administer the implementation and management of the company CRM system
10. Attend pre-bid meetings with the Contracting Engineer as required
11. Attend trade shows and conventions, and handle event planning for customer and
association dinners, as well as other forms of customer entertainment
12. Assist in the development and implementation of the Strategic Marketing Plan,
department sales objectives and individual sales plans as needed
13. Assist management and estimating team with sales and final close
14. Provide input and feedback on issues relevant to client programs, work in progress,
marketing initiative and sales assistance
15. Travel outside the local area, by air and car, when required to maintain position’s
essential functions
