Junior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

Details:

Our client is one of the largest independent liquids terminal and pipeline operators in the nation. They currently have approximately 9,800 miles of pipeline and 74 terminal and storage facilities that store and distribute crude oil, refined products and specialty liquids. The company's combined system has approximately 74 million barrels of storage capacity with operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
 
Position Summary:

Assist with regional HSE implementation and field compliance
Assist with maintaining compliance with all regulatory permitting.
Assist Regional HSE with Emergency Response Plan
Assist in the management of emergency plan updates and submittals
 
Major Accountabilities:

Draft and help manage regulatory compliance submissions to government agencies
Assist Regional HSE with permit compliance, permit modifications, new source permitting, project permitting, etc.
Coordinate submittal of regulatory permits obligations and tasks
Assist field operations with waste disposal and recordkeeping
Assist field operations with basic agency inspections and internal audits
Assist in implementation and management of facility emergency response plans
Monitor and advise of new HSE regulations and policies within applicable states and locales and communicate appropriately
Ensure field HSE compliance and recordkeeping through auditing
Support field operations in all HSE-related issues including health monitoring, VPP Certification, and auditing
Coordinate and oversee both the Incident Management (IMS) and Leak Detection And Repair (LDAR) program for the Region
 
Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree required.
Engineering; safety (BS), or environmental degree preferred.
Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must have the ability to obtain a TWIC credential
 
Experience Requirement:

0 - 3 years of directly related professional experience
Pipeline, terminal, and/or refinery experience preferred
Must have knowledge of state and federal environmental (stormwater, hazardous waste, air, and wastewater) regulations affecting terminal operations. Prefer additional knowledge of Emergency Response Plans, Security, and Safety regulations
Strong ability to perform efficiently in a dynamic field and manage changing priorities quickly
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong skills using Microsoft Office products.
