They are seeking an experienced Lead Piping Designer to support a large backlog of refinery projects in Southern California.
LARGE PROJECT LEAD POSITION (Please cease & desist sending resumes of non-leads) ----- This position must perform ADMINISTRATIVE and SUPERVISORY functions (again, please stop sending unqualified people)---- Minimum of 15 years experience ---- Needs 5 years on Downstream refining experience ---- Needs to have a proven track record on managing budget and schedule at the project level ---- Position will be located in Long Beach office ------ ALL pre-employment training will be determined after selection (VERIFY this upon selection, the refinery may change as the needs do)
Seeking a large project Piping LEAD, to execute small project work in large volume. This lead MUST have managed SP3D or PDS projects ------ Will be leading a very large project, potentially 25 designers and 10 engineers ------ Must be able to check work ----- Speak to a client clearly and professionally------Responsible for technical direction of piping design work and project administration of piping design and engineering tasks------Assigns and schedules work and is responsible for the progress and quality of deliverables of a team of piping designers and engineers, generally assigned to a single client------This position does not have administrative duties in regards to hiring or salary, but does include doing performance evaluations, conducting interviews, and assigning day to day tasks for piping engineers and designers------Perform initial project planning in regards to project scope, design basis, schedule planning, effort hour budget, staffing requirements, deliverables and execution strategy ------Develop and/or participate in Plot Plan and Equipment Arrangement activities ------Determine design areas and assign piping team personnel to specific responsibilities ------Develop and trend estimate quantities ------Participate in all design, HAZOP, P&ID, and model reviews ------Monitor the progress for all piping design activities in regards to budget, schedule, and staffing and report results to Project Management and Department Management ------ Ensure all piping design team members are working according to Jacobs procedures and guidelines, and that all have successfully completed project specific safety training ------ Possess strong working knowledge of PDS Piping, SmartPlant Review, or NavisWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite ------ Responsible for project piping change management and applicable documentation -------Must be capable to perform job walks with client and internal teams. This will include use of ladders and stairs for extended periods.
