DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify sources capable of providing materials and/or services of correct quality and obtain competitive and responsive quotations in a timely manner; evaluate and recommend placement of orders, and negotiate the lowest price and realistic delivery.
Analyze validity of claims, negotiate final resolution of commercial matters in connection with vendor requests for order value changes, assist accounting/vendor in resolving invoice discrepancies; expedite deliveries when needed.
As the Lead Purchaser (Buyer) you will lead and coordinate the purchasing and expediting portion of a project and will directly interface with other departments and Clients throughout the phase of the project.
Maintain awareness of: current market conditions, changes in current vendor products and organization, improved and lower cost sources, products, materials, methods and ideas.
Determining methods by which company buying power can be fully utilized and take appropriate action.
Maintain relationships with major suppliers.
Assist in the development of proposals as required.
