Maintenance Supervisor - Medical Device Manufacturing

Our client is a California based contract manufacturing company specializing in the medical device arena. They provide a complete suite of services to meet their clients needs that include machining, assemble, thermoforming and injection molding. They have top notch high tech facilities, with all of their manufacturing sites being ISO 13485:2003 certified.
 
Maintenance Supervisor
 
Required Skills, Training, and Experience to Perform the Essential Functions:
  • High school diploma/equivalent, trade school or degree a plus
  • 10 years’ experience performing skilled duties in the preventive maintenance and repair of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.  Previous experience in medical molding environment and Clean Rooms preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years’ facilities maintenance experience with strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes
  • Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills, ability to define problems and resolve them quickly. Ability to work well with ever changing priorities, situations and handling of multiple complicated priorities/tasks
  • Requires strong supervisory skills, coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills, PC, CAD, Electronics, Hydraulics and the ability to read blue prints.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crawl and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well organized.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise the day to day maintenance of building, grounds, equipment and plant facilities.
  2. Installs, moves, repairs and removes equipment and utilities within the building.
  3. Maintains equipment to meet production needs, performing preventative maintenance of all equipment ensuring minimal down time to equipment.
  4. Ensures equipment is maintained to production quality, safety and environmental standards and that replacement parts inventory are adequate.
  5. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on primary and auxiliary equipment to comply with ISO standards. Workload will be well balanced between electrical and mechanical issues
  6. Maintain equipment to meet production, quality, safety and environmental standards, delivering defect-free, competitive products, which meet or exceed customers’ needs and expectations
  7. Must be proficient in reading blue prints for pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic systems
  8. Perform preventative maintenance tasks on injection molding machine - including machine inspections, adjustments, lubrication and rebuilding or exchange of general components
  9. Ensure building structures and facilities are maintained and functioning properly at all times.
  10. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment throughout the plant.
  11. Execute predetermined maintenance schedules and keep record of daily maintenance activities.
  12. Assist in maintaining ISO and FDA preventative maintenance records
  13. Maintain the plants mechanical and electrical systems.
  14. Keeps thorough maintenance records
  15. Keeps abreast and in compliances with all OSHA regulations. Responsible for company’s safety program ensuring compliance with environmental and OSHA standards. Conducts monthly safety inspections and meetings.
  16. Oversees cleaning of facility and grounds maintenance.
  17. Supervise and coordinate the work of inhouse maintenance staff and activities of outside contractors who are working in plant or on our grounds.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.
